I love people - our comforting similarities and fascinating differences, plus the richness of the huge variety of gifts and perspectives we bring to our life and work. I also know how much effort it can take to get along and work well together and I am convinced that this is something worth investing in.
In my early working life in local government I was coordinating partnership projects to improve local life, particularly for marginalised communities, working with all sorts of people and organisations. This office work then took a more practical turn when my husband and I moved with our two young children to South Sudan with an international NGO, to support community efforts to rebuild after 40 years of civil war.
For the last decade I’ve had more senior organisational leadership roles in the charity we worked for overseas, now based in the UK. This has given me experience of leading through change, strategy development and implementation, staff engagement and team wellbeing, plus developing a healthy organisational culture (during and post-pandemic).
I am a Christian who is comfortable working with people of any faith or none. I would only bring my faith explicitly into my work where this is welcomed and appropriate, usually when working with Christian organisations or individuals.
Based in Cambridge, UK, I am very happy to travel.
